Hello! Thanks for visiting my website. I’m Kevin and the owner of Bridge Cottage. Originally from Carlisle, I know the Lake District well and have been visiting Keswick and the surrounding area for over forty years.

At Bridge Cottage I have attempted to create a welcoming and comfortable place to stay and explore the local area.

General Information

Customer Service

We provide a professional and efficient service with a friendly, personal touch. If you have any questions about your stay at Bridge Cottage we will do our best to advise you.

Quality Accommodation

At Bridge Cottage we have made a number of improvements and will continue making improvements each year. We send our feedback surveys to all guests and review them to guide any changes and improvements that we make.

All Inclusive

Bridge Cottage is well equipped for self-catering purposes and the electricity and heating costs are included in the rental price (you only have to pay for fuel for our wood burning stove). We do not charge a security deposit but ask that guests leave the property in a clean and tidy condition on departure and reserve the right to request a cleaning surcharge if the house isn’t left in a satisfactory state (see our terms and conditions for further information).

Property Information

You will receive access to Directions, Property Information, a Visitor Guide for the local area and a Welcome Book when you pay your deposit.  This will give you all the necessary information about the cottage as well as helpful information about Keswick. This includes practical information about the cottage (how to work the heating etc) and contact information for our caretaker and myself. Access information is provided when the full balance has been paid and it is within 3 days of your arrival.

Holiday Insurance

We do not operate a holiday insurance scheme so advise guests to take out the relevant holiday insurance for their booking. If you would like cover for cancelling your trip or for reasons beyond your control we recommend you take out insurance.

Your Feedback

We ask all of our guests for feedback at the end of their stay and to provide a review for inclusion on our website. This means we can pick up on any issues and resolve them for the next guest. Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I make a booking?

We prefer our guests to make bookings via our website using the live availability calendar. We can take telephone bookings but would need to take your card payment details over the phone. Following the payment of a deposit we require the remainder of the balance to be paid six weeks before arrival. The exception to this is when the booking arrival date is less than six weeks away, we ask for full payment to be made at the time of booking. We send you a reminder via email regarding your balance and you will be given all the details of how to pay including a link to a secure payment page where card payments can be taken online. There are no booking fees.
